It’s not you, it’s us. Apparently some of you are not receiving your alerts when we post. I’m getting
emails from people who ask, “Biko, was I removed from the mailing list? Is this romance over?”
Well, the fat lady is out in the back having a bath, and she takes her baths seriously. So, this won’t
be over until she sings. And she won’t be singing any time soon.
I asked our IT geek why people haven’t been receiving their email notification. How does that
work in non-geek terms?I had Whatsapped him. He took a bit of time to reply, which I
understood. I have been seeing him around the office in a new jacket. A cool jacket, I will admit.
You know how some people are when they wear new things, they just feel like they need not be
rushed. They want to be in the moment. Quite frankly, I have wanted to hold the lapel of his
jacket and feel it between my thumb and fingers: “My, Jose, you are killing it with this thread.”
When he finally took time off his jacket and replied I didn’t understand what the hell he was
saying. To put in a layman’s language, he said it was a plug-in issue. Does anyone know what a
plug-in is? Anyone at the back? He says he has fixed it. And he wants to test it and see if it’s
working.
So if you are one of the people who have not been getting my updates on email, could you kindly
tell us if you don’t get this notification? (Does that make sense, because how will you tell me if
you don’t get it) But if you did, if Jose’s jacket finally did the magic, just Like our button there and
get back to the important activity of nation building.

  8. I was one of those who was getting emotional about not receiving the notifications. I was sure I’d done something wrong, maybe never commenting on stories yet I’ve been here since “high school” times. Or maybe because I curse under my breath those who fight for first position in commenting. Or maybe because I often share without asking whether I can “steal the post”. I was lost.
    Thank you for bringing us back on board.

  32. Well I am getting notifications alright. BUT not the one am hoping for and yes I just started an actual sentence with a BUT. The notification I am hoping for goes something like this
    “Greetings *me*/good morning/ Hey or whatever here then..,
    We are delighted to notify you that you have been selected to join the Writing Masters Class ”

    So yes, notifications are coming in just fine

  39. I actually thought I skipped a day this week. My Tuesday 10 O’Clock tea is always accompanied by the latest blog post. (Yes, we know when it is posted late!!!) I felt unwanted on Tuesday, like why would you ditch me!!! Lakini we hope the fat Lady will not sing anytime soon. Thanks for fixing the issue. Cheers

  44. I did not get the notifications for two weeks, I thought you were unwell and even said a prayer for you (truly, hehe). Then I decided to check out your Facebook page, stalker that I am, and realised you were just fine. This notification came through though, so all is well.

  53. Yes , I have received this notification but I did not get the usual email alert of new article for this week and only saw it on FB! It got me thinking Biko must have “off loaded” those of us who did not buy his book! I will buy once in 254…don’t tell me it’s on Amazon! Am not an Amazon Prime member and I don’t want to pay for shipping! I enjoy and love your writing so I will buy your book eventually!!

I wasn’t getting your emails and I had actually thought this marriage is over was just waiting to be served with divorce papers which would have read: you are now unable to access Biko’s blog lol. Thanks for this though and think of a plugin in your terms like more meat or jokes that you add to your articles that make us laugh more…when you minimize on them we laugh less/function/read your articles less lol.

  63. Been trying to subscribe lots of times but I just don’t get the emails 🙁 🙁 I have tried subscribing again now and this is the error notification I get:
